40x40 oil on canvas
This piece captures a quiet, sacred moment where the sunrise is glimmering over water, the space where sea meets sky, and the day begins. Surfers float in the stillness, some may have gone out alone, though they are not truly alone.
I painted this intuitively with no reference. It was created with just memories of the golden light flickering on the surface, the feeling of being held by water. It reflects the idea that when we turn our focus outward we find peace and purpose. Just like the ocean, it’s vast and sometimes overwhelming, but also deeply freeing. Life, like surfing at sunrise, isn’t about going it alone it’s about being part of something greater that carries you forward.

Every Print Gives Back to the Ocean
Proudly Supporting Sea Sheppard
Liv Deans’ seascape art is inspired by the raw beauty of the South Coast shoreline — the crashing waves, shifting tides, and marine life that make this region so special. As part of her commitment to protecting the ocean that fuels her creativity, $2 from every art print sold is donated to Sea Shepherd Australia.
Sea Shepherd is an international marine conservation organisation using direct action to defend ocean wildlife and fight illegal fishing, plastic pollution, and climate change. By purchasing a coastal art print, you're not only bringing the sea into your space — you're helping protect it.
